OSU/A&M Regents approve personnel actions; name five new endowed positions

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, July 24, 2009) -- Several personnel actions were approved during the Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents meeting on July 24 on the OSU-Oklahoma City campus, including the naming of five OSU professors to new endowed positions on the Stillwater campus.

Clinton R. Krehbiel, professor of animal science, was appointed to the Dennis and Marta White Endowed Chair Professorship.

David M. Engle, Regents Professor and director of Water Research and Extension Center, was appointed to Thomas E. Berry Professorship in Water Research and Management.

Frank D. Blum, professor and head of chemistry, was appointed to the Harrison I. Bartlett Endowed Chair.

Vance H. Fried, professor and Brattain Chair in management, was appointed to the Riatta Professorship in Entrepreneurship.

Jeretta H. Nord, professor of management science and information systems, was appointed to the Riatta Professorship in Entrepreneurship.

APPOINTMENTS:  Joseph T. Robertson, assistant professor and extension specialist, agricultural education, communication and 4-H; Daniel R. Stein, assistant professor, animal science; Duncan S. Wilson, assistant professor, natural resource ecology and management; Million Tadege, assistant professor, plant and soil sciences; Lynn C. Lewis, assistant professor, English; Yongtao Du, assistant professor, history; Jesse E. Johnson and Jeffery A. Mermin, assistant professors, mathematics; Zane R. Stroope, associate professor, music; Darren M. Lusis, assistant professor, theatre; Tony Kang, associate professor and Wilton T. Anderson Chair, accounting; Robert Baron, professor and William S. Spears Chair, entrepreneurship, appointment grants tenure; Toni A. Ivey, assistant professor, teaching and curriculum leadership; Seung K. Ra and Nathan L. Richardson, assistant professors, architecture; Jeremy Penn, director, assessment and testing.

CHANGES: Neil Purdie, chemistry, appointment to Regents Service Professor; Craig Satterfield, title change from senior director to assistant dean, Graduate College; David M. Smith, title change from head coach to director, track/cross country, athletics.

RETIREMENTS: James Leising, agricultural sciences and natural resources, July 31; Edward O. Price III, economics and legal studies, June 30.

For OSU Institute of Technology, the retirement of Jerry D. Wilson, small business occupations, was accepted effective July 31.              

For OSU-Oklahoma City, the appointment of Vickie Ashby, instructor, general studies, was approved. Teri Ferguson, assistant professor and department head, humanities, was promoted to associate professor. Retirements were accepted for Jeanne Kubier, admissions and records, Aug. 31; Neal A. Willison, electronics and environmental technology, June 30; Gerald D. Patterson, industrial drafting and design, June 30; and Bennie Boykin, Upward Bound, Aug. 31.

For the OSU Center for Health Sciences, a title change was approved for Jenny J. Alexopulos, academic affairs, from vice president, senior associate dean and professor, to associate dean and professor.
