PSO awards $8,886 to OSU-CHS for energy conservation efforts

Thursday, July 30, 2009

OSU Center for Health Sciences has been awarded $8,886 for energy conservation efforts from Public Service Company of Oklahoma, a subsidiary of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP). Representatives from PSO presented the check to OSU-CHS interim president and dean Stanley E. Grogg, D.O., on July 6. OSU-CHS will use the funds to defray costs of an energy audit with Johnson Controls, conducted to determine ways to reduce heating, cooling and lighting costs. OSU-CHS expects to realize annual savings in excess of $200,000 through this initiative.

"Energy costs are a significant expense for any institution, particularly one with older systems such as ours. We're delighted to receive this recognition from PSO that our efforts are on track to become a more energy-efficient operation," says Dr. Grogg.
