(Stillwater, OK October 21, 2009) -- The College of Engineering Architecture and
Technology at Oklahoma State University will induct three distinguished graduates,
Charles Kridler, A. Joe Mitchell Jr. and Dr. Sridhar Mitta, into its Hall of Fame
on Friday, Oct. 23, in the ConocoPhillips Alumni Center in Stillwater.
“These individuals have made extraordinary contributions to their community, state
and nation or country, that make them the ‘giants’ of today,” said CEAT Dean Karl
N. Reid. “They all share a common set of qualities that helps inspire others and generates
a remarkable foundation for the future.” Since 1954, the college has inducted 84 “giants”
into its Hall of Fame, according to Reid.
Kridler is principal and director of retail services for Gensler, an architecture
and design firm in San Francisco. A true pioneer in retail architecture, Kridler is
also considered a leader in architecture in the areas of mixed-use, broadcasting,
hospitality, renovation and historic preservation.
Mitchell’s career reaches from architectural engineering into entrepreneurship in
several fields, including oil and gas, mixed-use real estate, telecommunications,
water resources and show cattle. He is chairman and CEO of four companies engaged
in oil and gas, oil services, real estate and cattle in Glen Rose, Tex.
Mitta is among the select few recognized for nurturing the information technology
revolution in India. Following a successful career in launching and directing technology
for the company WIPRO, Mitta started three additional companies that are models of
entrepreneurship in India and the U.S. He is also dedicated to using entrepreneurship
to improve the lives of people.
