DHM Professor Paulette Hebert named outstanding educator by international organization

Design, Housing and Merchandising Professor Paulette Herbert has been selected to receive the 2010 Educator Award by the International Facility Management Association. She is the Chris Salmon Professor in the College of Human Environmental Sciences.

The Educator Award recognizes excellence in developing curriculum and instructing students in subjects related to facility management at a college, university or institute. The recipient will have gained prominence in his or her field through activities such as writing and publishing papers, making presentations to professional organizations, mentoring an IFMA student chapter and overall teaching quality

Hebert specializes in lighting design and has published numerous articles on light and the interior environment. She recently completed a summer project with three students researching and advising on design elements for Argonne National Laboratory’s Energy Science Building project.

In addition to Hebert’s award, the OSU Student IFMA Chapter she advises was selected as Student Chapter of the Year in 2008 by the 19,500 member international organization. The Educator Award was presented at the IFMA World Workplace, Awards of Excellence banquet, Friday, October 29, 2010, in Atlanta, Georgia.
