An OSU fire combat team is seeking funds to compete in a national and world competition later this year after posting a winning time at a regional qualifier in Tyler, Texas recently. The team competed in the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge Relay that included several tests of strength and agility used in firefighting, including a hose pack carry, rope hoist, Keiser sled, hose advance, and dummy drag. The team posted a total time of less than two minutes to qualify for the trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Nov. 8 – 13 for national and world competition. If you’re interested in helping the team get there, please e-mail Tyler Phelan at tphelan@okstate.edu.
