KOSU Radio to host Policy and a Pint discussion about SQ 744
Tuesday, August 17, 2010
A heated battle is setting up for the fall election with Oklahoma education on one
side and a group of state agencies and other interest groups on the other. State
question 744 proposes raising the amount of money spent per pupil in Oklahoma to the
regional average. What does that mean for Oklahomans?
Many wonder whether an $850,000,000 increase in education funding will mean better
education for Oklahoma children or a tax increase and cutback in other state services.
KOSU Radio will host a new event August 30, 2010, at 6 p.m. to help voters answer
the question. Policy and a Pint is an opportunity for voters to join in a discussion
about what’s best for Oklahoma. The discussion will include representatives from
the Yes on 744 campaign and the One Oklahoma Coalition. KOSU capitol bureau chief
Michael Cross will moderate the event.
Picasso Café in Oklahoma City’s Paseo Arts District will host the event with KOSU
and will provide hors dourves.
