OSU to celebrate 50th anniversary of MBA program
Tuesday, October 5, 2010
The Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University is staging a year-long
celebration of students, alumni, faculty and staff to mark the 50th anniversary of
the school’s Master of Business Administration program.
Since the program was founded in 1960, the OSU MBA program has produced more than
3,000 graduates from diverse backgrounds and disciplines who have made lasting impressions
on Oklahoma and the world. During the celebration year, the Spears School will showcase
five decades of integrated, high-quality MBA teaching, research and outreach and will
honor the individuals who shaped the program’s history and continue to shape its future.
“The golden anniversary provides the opportunity to reflect on the many significant
accomplishments of our graduates and the impact of the program on individuals and
business, “ said Lawrence Crosby, Spears School dean. “This anniversary could not
have come at a better time. The Spears School is flourishing, and this year-long anniversary
commemoration is an opportunity for us to look forward to the next 50 years and reaffirm
our commitment to serving the business community.”
The festivities will commence in October and November with several MBA Alumni Reunions
in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Missouri. OSU MBA alumni are encouraged to attend these
events to network with alumni and MBA program faculty and former directors, learn
about advancements in the MBA program, and hear from executive leaders from various
professions.
The Spears School also will have a booth at OSU Homecoming Walkaround on October 22
and will host a tailgate for MBA alumni and friends outside of the business building
prior to the OSU Homecoming football game on October 23. The celebration will conclude
with a Gala Event held in Stillwater on April 15-16, 2011.
