OSU recognizes administrators, faculty and staff during Fall Convocation

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Regents Professor Don Lucca was awarded the Eminent Faculty Award during Fall Convocation Tuesday. This award recognizes the highest level of scholarly achievement at OSU. Vice President David Bosserman, Dean Michael Lorenz and Dean Karl Reid also received the university Loyal and True Award.
Members of the Oklahoma State University administration, faculty and staff were recognized for their service, work and loyalty during the annual Fall Convocation Tuesday at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater.

Recipients of the Loyal and True Award, the highest recognition given to any OSU employee, were Vice President of Administration and Finance David Bosserman, Dean of the Center of Veterinary Health Sciences Michael Lorenz and Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology Karl Reid.  

“This award is given infrequently and only to individuals who personify the spirit of OSU through unwavering devotion, personal sacrifice and commitment of time and talents well above and beyond the call of duty,” said Provost and Senior Vice President Robert Sternberg. 

In addition to the Loyal and True Award, the Eminent Faculty award was given to Don Lucca, Regents Professor, who holds the Tom J. Cunningham Endowed Chair in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

Also announced were recipients of the University Service Awards.  These awards are given to one member of the faculty, staff and administration each year to recognized them for their work to advance the overall betterment of the university.   This year’s winners were:   Andrew Arena, professor in mechanical and aerospace engineering; Kent Bunker, director of the Colvin Center, and Kendria Cost, marketing coordinator at the Seretean Wellness Center.

The Staff Advisory Distinguished Service Awards are normally recognized during the Fall Convocation but will be announced this year during the Staff Advisory Awards and Recognition Ceremony being held at the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts Thursday, November 11 at 10 a.m.
