OSU/A&M Regents approve personnel actions

Several personnel actions were approved during the Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents meeting on Sept. 10 on the Stillwater campus.
APPOINTMENTS: Daniel A. Lao Davila, assistant professor, geology; Jeffrey J. Loeffert, assistant professor, music; Joshua D. Habiger, assistant professor, statistics; Jaya Dey, assistant professor, economics and legal studies; Julie M. Croff and Tyler N. Tapps, assistant professors, applied health and educational psychology; Christopher J. Jenks, assistant professor, educational studies; George E. Abshire, clinical assistant professor, teaching and curriculum leadership; Tingguang Ma and Qingsheng Wang, assistant professors, engineering technology; Steven M. Ruby, clinical assistant professor, hotel and restaurant administration; Kimberly B. Reeds, assistant professor, veterinary clinical sciences.
CHANGES: Damona G. Doye, Regents Professor of Agricultural Economics, appointment to Sarkeys Distinguished Professorship; Derrell S. Peel, professor of agricultural economics, appointed to Charles Breedlove Endowed Professorship; Brian J. Carter, professor of plant and soil sciences, appointed to the Mel and Mary Jones Professorship in Agronomic Sciences; William R. Raun, Regents Professor of Plant and Soil Sciences, removing title of Nutrients for Life Professorship and adding Walter R. Sitlington Chair in Agriculture; Kathryn Castle Aichele, professor of teaching and curriculum leadership, appointed to Watson Endowed Chair; Sandra K. Goetze, associate professor of teaching and curriculum leadership, appointed to Phillips Endowed Chair.
SABBATICAL: Jayson L. Lusk, professor and Willard Sparks Endowed Chair, agricultural economics, 100 percent sabbatical to determine the economic consequences of consumers’ food preferences and food policies directed toward modern industrial farming practices at the French Institute for Agricultural Research, University of Paris 1 and the University of Toulouse.
RETIREMENT: Marcella C. Sirhandi, art, Aug. 31, 2010.
At the Center for Health Sciences, the title of Kenneth E. Miller, professor and interim
chair, was changed to chair, anatomy and cell biology; the title of Gregory W. Sawyer,
associate professor and interim director of the biomed graduate program, biochemistry
and microbiology, was changed to director of the biomed graduate program; and the
title of Alexander J. Rouch, associate professor of pharmacology and physiology, was
changed to department chair, pharmacology and physiology.
