OSU/A&M Regents approve personnel actions

Several personnel actions were approved during the Oklahoma State University/A&M Board
of Regents meeting July 23 on the OSU-Tulsa campus.
APPOINTMENTS: Kenneth Kim and Cynthia A. Nichols, assistant professors, media and
strategic communications; James M. Kirkendoll, assistant professor, music; Lana O.
Beasley, associate professor, psychology; Michael A. Long, assistant professor, sociology;
Michael Tobler, assistant professor, zoology; M. Phil Lewis, assistant professor,
civil and environmental engineering; Sonia Crochik, clinical associate professor,
veterinary clinical sciences; Andrew S. Hanzlicek, assistant professor, veterinary
clinical sciences; Juliana M. Nykolaiszyn and Anna N. Sump-Crethar, assistant professors,
library.
TITLE CHANGES: James P. Wicksted, from professor and head, physics, and director of
Multidisciplinary Research, to professor, physics, and director of Multidisciplinary
Research; Marlene I. Strathe, from provost and senior vice president and professor,
to professor, educational studies; Hailin Qu, Regents Professor of Hotel and Restaurant
Administration, adds title of William Davis Chair; William E. Ryan III, professor
and director, hotel and restaurant administration, adds title of Charles Lamphere
Professor; Nancy M. Betts, professor and head, nutritional sciences, adds title of
Jim and Lynn Williams Professor; Barbara S. Stoecker, Regents Professor, nutritional
sciences, appointed to Marilynn Thoma Chair.
RETIREMENTS: George O. Carney, geography, July 21; James G. Hromas, marketing, Aug.
2; Ruth H. Krieger, marketing, Aug. 19; Cheryl A. Farr, design, housing and merchandising,
Sept. 3.
For OSU-Oklahoma City, appointments were approved for Marcia G. Fisher, director,
business office; Matthew J. Harkness, instructor, environmental and engineering research
management; and Evan J. Burkala, instructor, science.
For the OSU Center for Health Sciences, the appointment was approved for Stacey D.
Knapp, clinical assistant professor and 2010-12 OSU-CHS Alumni Association Endowed
Professorship in Rural Medicine, family medicine. A title change from associate professor
and director to associate professor and chair, pharmacology and physiology, was approved
for Alexander J. Rouch.
