Outstanding Oklahoma State University faculty honored for research excellence

Nine Oklahoma State University faculty members were named recipients of the Regents Distinguished Research Award for 2010-11 during the September meeting of the Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents. Receiving the prestigious awards were:

•    Jayson L. Lusk, agricultural economics professor and endowed chair
•    James L. Huston, Regents Professor, history
•    John Mintmire, Regents Professor and interim head, physics
•    Betty J. Simkins, professor and Williams Companies Chair, finance
•    Lynna J. Ausburn, teaching and curriculum leadership associate professor
•    Khaled A. Gasem, professor, head and endowed chair, chemical engineering
•    Carolyn S. Henry, human development and family science professor
•    Robert W. Fulton, professor and endowed chair, veterinary pathobiology
•    Gregory W. Sawyer, biochemistry and microbiology associate professor

The Regents Distinguished Research Award recognizes research excellence at Oklahoma State University. Recipients are selected based on evidence of outstanding and meritorious achievements, a distinguished record of past and continuing excellence in research, and national and international recognition.

They will receive a permanent salary increment of $1,000, plus fringe benefits on top of normal merit increases recommended by respective department heads.
