Police continue investigation of off-campus shooting Monday night

Oklahoma State University police continue to work with Stillwater Police in the search
for the suspect from Monday night’s shooting of an OSU student in his off-campus home
at 417 N. Lincoln. Stillwater and OSU Police responded to a report of a man being
shot in the leg at 9:05 p.m.
The victim in the case has been identified as Kacy Cook an OSU junior from Grapevine,
Tex. He was treated at Stillwater Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the upper
leg
Witnesses reported seeing the suspect running north of the crime scene toward the
OSU campus. Because of the proximity of the crime scene to the Greek community and
campus, OSU immediately notified fraternity and sorority houses and residential halls
and requested they activate emergency procedures, including a lockdown if appropriate.
In addition, OSU activated its emergency voice notification system. More than 20,000
warning calls were made and 95 percent of those were successfully received within

The Stillwater Police Department is leading the investigation. The suspect is described
as a black male, with a small amount of facial hair under his chin, early 20’s, 6ft.
2 in., weighing around 230lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans
and black/green backpack.
