Wellness tip: Sugared beverage calories add weight

One 12-ounce soda contains about 150 calories. Drinking three cans of regular soda each day, without eating less food or doing more exercise, can mean a 1-pound weight gain each week. If you regularly drink sugared beverages, try cutting back. Also consider switching to sugar-free drinks, alternating sodas with calorie-free flavored waters, or simply squeezing fresh lemon juice into your water. This tip is brought to you by the OSU Seretean Wellness Center, dedicated to making OSU the Healthiest Campus in America.
