Campus prepares for Thursday night football game against Arizona

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Oklahoma State University has made adjustments to accommodate academic and campus activities, as well as visiting fans, for this week’s nationally televised ESPN Thursday night football game against the University of Arizona at Boone Pickens Stadium.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Thursday.

“This is an excellent opportunity to showcase Oklahoma State University on national TV,” said OSU Provost Bob Sternberg. “I appreciate everyone’s understanding and support as we address game-day needs while maintaining our academic priorities.”

Here are key details to help you plan for Thursday:

  • Classes remain in session; faculty members have the discretion to make adjustments
  • Faculty, staff, and students will be asked to vacate specific Posse lots (orange and gold) in close proximity to the stadium no later than 1 p.m. on Sept. 8; Posse lots immediately adjacent to the stadium (black) will be closed all day
  • The Monroe St. Garage will be available the entire day for faculty and staff, parking will be free of charge and busses will be available
  • Student commuter parking will be restricted all day into the lots directly adjacent to the stadium; also, the lots directly adjacent to the Wes Watkins Center will be closed at noon and students will be directed to alternate parking locations
  • Fans will be permitted to enter vacated Posse lots in close proximity to academic buildings at 3:30 p.m.
  • For students coming to campus for late afternoon classes, Parking and Transit will stop checking permits on all non-Posse Club campus parking lots at 3 p.m.
  • Monroe St. and Hester St. control gates will open at 3 p.m.
  • On-campus bus routes will begin reduced service at 2 p.m.; off-campus bus routes will run normally
