Champions Gift, a 1 hour documentary premieres November 7th on CBS Sports Network.

No individual has given so much to one college sports program. T. Boone Pickens' $400 million gift to his alma mater, Oklahoma State University, has made OSU a real contender in NCAA sports. The gift was so magnanimous, they named the state of the art facility Boone Pickens Stadium.

It's been said sports are the front porch of the university. Under Pickens' leadership, OSU has become an inviting home for athletes, students and faculty. Not only has it lifted Oklahoma State's teams and players to a new level but it has impacted the entire academic life of the university as well.

Champion's Gift, premiering Monday, November 7 at 10pm Eastern on CBS Sports Network, tells Pickens' story, from his roots in Holdenville, Oklahoma to his rise as a business legend.
Highlights of the one hour show include

  • A visit to Pickens' hometown - Holdenville, OK - where his philanthropy was rooted in the Great Depression.
  • Pickens giving an exclusive look at his daily workout, impressive for an 83 year old.
  • Interviews with athletes who have benefitted from Pickens' largesse, including Cowboys' quarterback Brandon Weeden and golfer Peter Uihlein.
  • Interviews with those who knew Pickens at the dawn of his business career, among them the late Harley Hotchkiss, former chair of the NHL Board of Governors.
Champion's Gift: Boone Pickens, produced by Bear's Den Productions, is the one hour pilot episode for a series of programs on sports legends who give back.
