Compressed natural gas fueling station welcomes public
OSU has partnered with Clean Energy to open a compressed natural gas fueling station in Stillwater that serves both OSU and the general public. CNG is a clean burning alternate fuel readily available in the U.S. with a price ($1.99) that is almost $1 less than gasoline and more than $1 less than the national average for diesel.
In addition to being cheaper, CNG is also cleaner and it is less damaging and corrosive than the diesel fuel that had previously been used. “Another significant advantage of the CNG buses is the quieter operation,” said Steve Spradling, director of OSU Parking and Transit Services.
The new station is located on the corner of Western and Lakeview and is currently open for business.
