Freshman Friday: David Osborn

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Oklahoma State University is offering  a closer look into the lives of its freshmen students. Each Friday, one freshman will be highlighted on the OSU Facebook page as part of the "Freshman Friday" feature. The freshmen profiles will share students' first impressions and experiences at OSU and create a unique way for others to get to know first-year students. If this is your first year at OSU and you want to participate in "Freshman Friday," please contact Amy Wilson at amy.k.wilson10@okstate.edu.

Why did you choose to attend OSU?
I chose to attend OSU because of its incredible cross country program and its great engineering school.

What has been your favorite experience so far?
My favorite experience so far has been being part of the repeat national champions Cowboy Cross Country team this past fall.

What do you wish you would have known before coming to college?
I wish I knew about all the scholarships that are offered to students across the nation to help pay for tuition.

What changes do you hope to see during your years at OSU?
I hope to see my level of procrastination decline and, of course, the new Student Union.

Where do you see yourself after graduation?
I see myself working as a chemical engineer somewhere around Chicago and also continuing to run.

What advice would you give to high school seniors who are thinking about coming to OSU?
I would tell them to take out the extra time each day to fill out scholarship applications so they can lessen the amount they'll be in debt when they graduate.
