First Sally Vielma Memorial Barrel Race on Saturday

Barrel races for peewees to adults will be held Saturday, May 14, at the OSU Rodeo Arena to fund to an OSU Rodeo Scholarship in the name of the late Sally Watkins Vielma. Vielma had a passion for the OSU team and worked for years to establish a scholarship for team members. Alumni, family and sponsors are funding the overhead, so that 100 percent of proceeds can go toward the scholarship. For more information, contact rodeo team member Ashely Cotton at (405) 473-7796. Exhibitions start at 10 a.m. at the Rodeo Arena, 2211 N. Western Ave. in Stillwater.

Youth 3D (14 and under) Barrel Racing starts at noon and Peewee (8 and under) class will run at the same time, followed by open 4 D Barrel Racing.

The barrel races are WPRA co-sanctioned, but you don’t have to be a WPRA card holder to enter. It is open to everyone.

Bob Berg belt buckles will be awarded to winners of each Open and Youth division winner

 In addition to the exciting barrel racing, fabulous silent auction items, including items donated by Reba McEntire, BMI saddle pads, The Territory, Martha Josey, Jud Little Ranch, and many more. Commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase as well as other OSU Rodeo Team merchandise.Shop the vendors and eat some of the great food that will be served.
