Oklahoma State Delta Delta Delta receives national award
Thursday, September 8, 2011
The Oklahoma State University Chapter of the Delta Delta Delta Women’s Fraternity
received notification that it has earned the highest national award, One Star Chapter
Status. After years of being rated as a two star chapter, the women of OSU’s Phi Upsilon
Chapter have captured what every Tri Delta chapter hopes to attain.
Throughout each school year, every Tri Delta chapter is asked to compile its activities
for the year and report them to the national office in Arlington, Texas. In order
to be awarded the One Star Chapter Status, the chapter must exceed the Executive Board
standards. Every Tri Delta chapter is expected to score at least 75 percent on the
Accreditation Plan. The OSU Phi Upsilon Chapter scored 90 percent of the total points,
earning One Star Chapter Status.
“This is such a huge honor for our chapter,” said Whitley Tracy, OSU Tri Delta President.
“It just goes to show how hard our chapter has been working, and it is great to be
able to see that our hard work paid off. ”
The award is not easily won. Out of all Tri Delta chapters in the nation and Canada,
typically less than 20 chapters are awarded the One Star Chapter Status.
"The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs is incredibly proud of Tri Delta,”
said Liz Osborne, coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs. “The women of the
Phi Upsilon Chapter have worked very hard to achieve this honor. As the Panhellenic
Advisor, I view the women of Tri Delta as model members of the fraternity and sorority
community."
