Oklahoma State finalizes 2011 football schedule - Thursday and Friday night TV games set
Friday, April 29, 2011
IRVING – Oklahoma State has finalized its 2011 football schedule with the announcement that ESPN has added the Arizona-Oklahoma State to its early selection of games.
That contest will now take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Two other OSU games had earlier been selected for telecast. OSU will visit Iowa State on Nov. 18 for a Friday night game on ESPN2. The Bedlam game, featuring Oklahoma at Oklahoma State, will take place on Dec. 3 with either ABC or ESPN televising the contest.
“We are excited that our football team has been selected to play in three highly visible TV windows,” said Mike Holder, OSU’s Director of Athletics. “These national telecasts are a great way to showcase Oklahoma State University.”
Television plans for the remaining nine games will be announced as they become available.
OSU will be looking to post a Thursday night home win for the third straight season as OSU defeated Colorado in 2009 and Texas A&M in 2010. OSU rallied from halftime deficits in both games.
The game with Arizona will be a rematch of the 2010 Valero Alamo Bowl. The Cowboys won that contest, 36-10.
Oklahoma State tied a school record last season with 11 games televised, including six on ABC or ESPN networks.
