Wednesday, September 7, 2011

OSU releases “America’s Brightest Orange” commercial to be aired nationally during the first football game of the season

Oklahoma State University will unveil a new branding campaign, “America’s Brightest Orange” during its nationally televised football game on September 3rd against Louisiana-Lafeyette. The campaign highlights Oklahoma State’s academic and extracurricular achievements and thrusts the university into the national conversation as a top-tier school.

“The new campaign makes a statement that Oklahoma State University delivers the highest level of excellence both in the classroom and beyond,” said Burns Hargis, Oklahoma State University President. “We are proud to share our accomplishments with the world.”

The new privately-funded campaign by the OSU Foundation, designed by advertising firm Ackerman McQueen, will run nationally during OSU athletic events and will help the university in its effort to recruit students living outside Oklahoma. With robust images and animations, the President Hargis-narrated ad stands out as a forward-thinking university commercial.

"We have faculty doing groundbreaking research, and we have students achieving greatness in the classroom,” he said. “The tradition of OSU has not changed, but as we move forward with our branding campaign, we feel our orange is shining brighter than ever.”

“We are thrilled with how the piece turned out, and we think it will resonate with the public. When President Hargis approached us to work on this campaign, we were ecstatic,” said Rodney Lipe, President & Director of Client Services, Ackerman McQueen. “Any time you can work with an Oklahoma institution like OSU, you feel a sense of pride. As a life-long Oklahoma native and OSU fan, I am proud to tell the world about America’s Brightest Orange.”
