OSU center renamed
The Inclusion Center for Academic Excellence recently changed its name to the Office of Multicultural Affairs to be a more distinguishable resource to the OSU community and to better reflect its similarity to related departments and offices at other Big 12 schools. The Office of Multicultural Affairs is located in the basement of the classroom building, room 009.
The name change is also designed to attract more students to take advantage of the services OMA offers to support their success at OSU. The Office of Multicultural Affairs is a place for all students, including those of different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences, to come together to learn more about each other and about themselves. The office uses a holistic approach to empower students to embrace and promote a more inclusive world, and assist them in achieving academic excellence, developing their personal and professional character, and engaging in the campus and greater community.
OMA includes several OSU cultural affinity groups, such as the African-American Student Association, Asian-American Student Association, Hispanic Students Association, Native American Student Association, Vietnamese Student Association, Sexual Orientation Diversity Association, National Organization for Women, and the Women’s Resource Center Student Alliance.
Dr. Precious Elmore serves as director of OMA. For more information, phone (405) 744-5481
