Friday, March 25, 2011
Four OSU teams are among those who’ve advanced in the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup collegiate business plan competition. Cold Plasma Medical LLC, and MaxQ are OSU graduate division teams chosen to compete in the semifinals, April 8 – 9, in Oklahoma City for more than $120,000 in cash, scholarships and awards. Two more teams from OSU, CleanNG and HydroSolutions, are finalists for the contest’s $7,000 OG&E Positive Energy Award.
“We’re witnessing the emergence of a new wave of entrepreneurs in this competition,” said Tom Walker, i2E’s president and CEO. “The innovation these students have shown in their business plans will carry over into the rest of their lives as they begin building new enterprises and take their place as entrepreneurs and business leaders in Oklahoma and the nation.”
Winners will be announced in an awards banquet April 14 at the Bricktown Events Center. The top two finishers in each division will be invited to compete at the Tri-State competition in Las Vegas on May 25-26
The competition is underwritten with a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. It is managed by i2E Inc., a not-for-profit corporation that also receives funding from a variety of federal, state and private sources
