Works from upcoming art grads to be featured at gallery
The Gardiner Art Gallery will present its 2011 Graphic Design: Senior Portfolio Exhibition starting Wednesday, Nov. 9 – 21, featuring the work of students preparing to graduate from the OSU Department of Art in December. The works cover all areas of design, including illustration, motion graphics, print design and branding. The art gallery is fully accessible on the first floor of the Bartlett Center for the Visual Arts. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
The artwork in this exhibit represents the culmination of each student’s achievements and ability to balance form with function, aesthetics and style, logic with intuition. Visitors will be impressed by numerous examples of graphic design that are imaginative, inspiring, innovative, smart and memorable.
Students are encouraged to take risks, explore new ideas, and maintain and promote the highest design standards, while keeping themselves abreast of contemporary developments in the graphic design field as they pursue their degree.
The gallery is closed on Sundays and University holidays. For more information, please call 405-744-9069 or visit: www.art.okstate.edu and www.facebook.com/GardinerArtGallery
About the Gardiner Art Gallery
First opened in 1965, the Gardiner Art Gallery has become the central place for Oklahoma State University students and faculty to experience the visual arts. It offers a range of exhibitions that stimulate active learning, research and teaching about art. The Gardiner Art Gallery is managed in close collaboration with the Department of Art. Each academic year, we organize a variety of programs, including artist talks, workshops and lectures by art historians and critics. All exhibitions and programs are offered free of charge to the community, designed for the education and enjoyment of all. The gallery serves as a gateway to the University experience and the vibrant cultural landscape of central Oklahoma.
