Regents approve OSU faculty promotions

The Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents approved promotions in academic
rank for faculty members on the campuses in Stillwater, Tulsa and Oklahoma City, effective
July 1, during its meeting today at OSU-Tulsa.
On the Stillwater campus, receiving promotions from professor to the honorary title of Regents Professor were
Shida Rastegari, Agricultural Economics; Robert Matts, Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology; Glenn Brown, Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering; Frank Blum, Chemistry;
Perry Gethner, Foreign Languages; Estella Atekwana, Geology; and Susan Little, Pathobiology.
Provost and Senior Vice President Robert Sternberg and Stephan Wilson, Dean of Human
Sciences, were also named Regents Professors. Hailin Zhang was promoted to Regents
Professor and Al Reed Chair.
Receiving promotions from associate professor to professor were David Cartmell, Agricultural
Education, Communications and Leadership; Nurhan Dunford, Biosystems and Agricultural
Engineering; Lisa Lewis, English; Carlos Cordova, Geography; Wouter Hoff, Microbiology

granting tenure, were Angela Holmberg, Health Services; Michael Eckart, Division of
Engineering Technologies; and Karen Lockwood, Health Sciences. Nancy Lowrance, Crime
Victim and Survivor Services, was promoted from assistant professor and head to associate
professor and head, action granting tenure. Garry Jones, Fire Protection, was promoted
from assistant professor and associate division head to associate professor and associate
division head, action granting tenure.
Receiving promotions from instructor to assistant professor were Vickie Ashby, Arts
and Sciences; Catherine Palmer, Dietetic Technology; Gayla Florance-Clark, Health
Sciences; Thingal Masar, Health Sciences; Terry Clinefelter, Industrial Drafting
and Design; Amber Hefner, Management Studies; Ricky Streight, Mathematics; and Steven
Collins, Social Studies.
For the OSU Center for Health Sciences promoted from associate professor to professor, action granting tenure, was Robin
Dyer, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Harriet Shaw, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine,
was reappointed as professor, action granting tenure. Joan Stewart, Clinical Education,
was promoted from associate dean and associate professor to associate dean and professor,
action granting tenure.
Faculty receiving promotions from assistant professor to associate professor, action granting tenure, were Anne Weil, Anatomy and Cell Biology; Nedra Wilson, Anatomy and Cell Biology; and Jarrad Wagner, Associated Health Sciences. Reappointments of associate professor, action granting tenure, were Franklin Champlin, Biochemistry and Microbiology; and Jeffery Stroup, Internal Medicine.
Cornelia Nickel, Family Medicine, was promoted from clinical assistant professor to clinical associate professor.
