One day after a storm which carried 70-100 mph winds through campus, the OSU Physical Plant has assessed the campus-wide damage.

“It will be a few days before we can put a dollar amount on the damage caused by the storm,” said Rick Krysiak, Director of OSU Physical Plant Services. “The damage is significant, and our crews will be working several days if not weeks to complete repairs and finish cleaning up.”

The damages include several rooftops that required immediate repairs, shattered glass on several buildings and 102 trees, 35 of which cannot be saved.

One storage building on the northwest side of campus was destroyed by fire after it was apparently struck by lightning. The canopy on UToo (temporary Student Union) collapsed and was torn from a portion of the building.

There were no reports of injuries or students being displaced on campus as a result of the storm.
