Two botany graduate students receive fellowships

Two botany graduate students have been awarded Bridge to Doctorate Fellowships from the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, funded by the National Science Foundation. Nicole Bryant is a first year graduate student working with Dr. David Meinke in the area of plant molecular genetics. Molly Parkhurst is a second year graduate student working with Dr. Janette Steets in the area of plant population genetics.  Both students will receive annual stipends and opportunities for professional development. Stokes fellowships are highly competitive and support minority OSU graduate students pursuing degrees in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
