Wentz Scholarships for OSU Undergraduates announced

Seventeen Oklahoma State University students have been selected to receive $2,750 Lew Wentz Scholarships for the 2011-12 academic year.  The scholarships are for continuing undergraduate students who have not only shown outstanding academic progress but have been leaders on campus and provided valuable public service.  Administered by the Office of Scholar Development, the awards are used to showcase students whose concern for others might eventually lead to graduate work and careers in service.

Applicants for the award must submit a 400-500 word essay on how academic and extracurricular activities at OSU are preparing them for professional and personal success, They also must submit a one-page summary of activities and honors at OSU, an official transcript and a letter of recommendation from an OSU faculty member, department head or academic advisor.
