OSU art faculty talents on display for exhibition and series

The talents of OSU’s art faculty are the main feature of a new exhibit and discussion series at the Gardiner Gallery, which is on display through Oct. 11. The exhibition and discussion series are free and open to the public.

The annual exhibition gives faculty a chance to share insights with the general public and represents the full spectrum of art, including studio art and design from traditional drawing, painting, sculpture, metal work, graphic design to video and digital animation. The fine arts faculty members work as professional artists, involved in national and international exhibitions, as well as mentors to their students, guiding them to find their own visual voice. This exhibition offers an opportunity for students to see the talents of their professors, who challenge and inspire them on a daily basis.

The public is also invited to attend a series of eight roundtable discussions on topics from the art history faculty’s current research and publication projects, which are schedule from Sept. 27 through Nov. 15. All discussions are held from noon – 1 p.m. in 104 Bartlett Center. They are free and open to the public.

About the Gardiner Art Gallery

First opened in 1965, the Gardiner Art Gallery has become the central place for Oklahoma State University students and faculty to experience the visual arts. It offers a range of exhibitions that stimulate active learning, research and teaching about art. The Gardiner Art Gallery is managed in close collaboration with the Department of Art. Each academic year, we organize a variety of programs, including artist talks, workshops and lectures by art historians and critics. All exhibitions and programs are offered free of charge to the community, designed for the education and enjoyment of all. The gallery serves as a gateway to the University experience and the vibrant cultural landscape of central Oklahoma.
