Big Robot to offer free concert on Monday night
Big Robot, a computer-based acoustic trio, will present a free concert at 8 p.m. Monday, April 9, in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts. The group from Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis, have played together since 2007.
One band member, Scott Deal, is a graduate of Cameron (Okla.) University. Deal is the main percussionist for the group while Michael Drews is the composer and computer operator. Jordan Munson and Drews perform using a computer and multimedia facets. All three are professors.
“While each member of the group plays a unique role, together they possess similar musical influences of rock, jazz, electronic and new music that has shaped the group’s artistic viewpoint,” said Brant Adams, professor and head of the music department.
