Crime Alert: Purse-snatching, exercise caution

The OSU Police Department is currently investigating an attempted purse-snatching that occurred in Lot #62 which is located south of the Brumley Apartments and west of the Village Apartments on the OSU Campus. The incident was reported to have occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Thursday, January 19.

According to information provided by the victim, she had parked her vehicle and was walking east when an unidentified male grabbed her arm that held her purse. The victim was knocked to the ground as she struggled to retain her purse. The unknown assailant, along with another unknown male, then ran from the scene. The victim was able to keep her purse from being taken but did suffer minor bumps and scrapes.

The suspects are described as males, both 18 – 20 years of age, both being approximately 5'-8", and both weighing approximately 150 - 160 pounds. One was described as being a white male, while the second was described as a having darker skin. Both were wearing blue jeans and dark colored jackets or hoodies.
