OSU Crops Judging Team earns third place at national competition

The OSU Crops Judging Team placed third overall at the National Chicago Board of Trade Collegiate Crops Contest held recently in Chicago. The team, which includes Kaitlyn Nelson, Teal Penka, Jared Yost and Tony Jarvis, is coached by Samantha Ambrose. It also placed third overall in grain grading, seed analysis and plant and seed I.D. categories.

Individually, Nelson placed 5th in identification, 6th in seed analysis, 3rd in grain grading, and 7th overall. Nelson also qualified as an All American in grain grading, which requires a score of at least 570 out of 600. Penka placed 9th in identification, 7th in seed analysis, and 8th overall. Yost placed 9th in grain grading.

The team also placed third at a previous contest in Kansas City.  Congratulations on a successful season.
