Damaged campus trees removed

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

The trees that were removed recently, along the sidewalk between the library and Monroe Street, are Chinese Pistache trees which were damaged by last year's drought and in decline. Their removal is part of the "Legacy Walk Project" which is included in the Landscape Master Plan (http://www.pp.okstate.edu/grounds.php). The project will broaden the walk from Hester to Monroe and accomodate more pedestrian and bicycle traffic. More trees will be planted and benches will be placed along the walk close to the tree canopies.
