Energy notice for holiday break

Over the holiday break, remember these important steps for energy savings:

Turn off all computers, monitors, speakers, and printers. If you plan to access your computer remotely, make sure the only thing you leave on is your computer (CPU).
Unplug all chargers, fans, coffee pots, candle warmers, radios and other items that are plugged into an outlet and can be unplugged without damage.
Clean out small refrigerators, and unplug with door propped open.
Remove all food waste from your work space.
Take home plants or other items that cannot tolerate cooler temperatures. Temperatures in non-lab spaces can reach as low as 55° before the heat comes on.
Close blinds and tilt slats upwards.
Turn off lights, and unplug all holiday lights.
