Fires devastating for members of OSU family

The recent wildfires have devastated many, including individuals associated with Oklahoma State University.  Funds have been established to support OSU employees and others connected with OSU.  Listed below are ways you can help.  If you were affected by the fires, or know other employees or students who were, please notify Brittney Rochell at brittney.rochell@okstate.edu.

Deb VanOverbeke, associate professor in Animal Science, and Kirk VanOverbeke, physical plant paint shop, lost their home. They have two small children. The childrens sizes are: Esther - Shirts 6x; pants/shorts 5t;  Joshua - shirts 2T-3T; pants/shorts 12-18 month. Cash donations and other care packages may be dropped at the following places: the Paint Shop, the Key shop, the Iba Office with Jon Hunt or with Diane Galloway in room 104 of the Animal Science Building. 

Bob and Pat Newman lost their home and barns. Bob worked previously at the OSU Alumni Association and Pat works in the psychology department. Donations can be made through the psychology department to Jean Gay Potts, 116 N Murray Hall. In addition, donations can be made to: OSU Alumni Association-Bob Newman Fire Fund, 201 ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center, Stillwater, OK, 74078.

Marie Montelongo in Veterinary Pathobiology lost her home.  Donations can be made to Gayle Manley inroom 213 McElroy Hall. 

JD Hathcock lost his vehicle and barns, as well as his show pigs. Donations can be made to Mandy Gross in room 140 FAPC or to Renée Albers-Nelson in FAPC. 

Nichole Bostian Trantham, a member of the OSU Alumni Association Board of Directors, lost her home in the Mannford fire. Donations can be made at any branch location of Oklahoma Central Credit Union to the Bostian/Trantham Fund, Acct. # 1660310; or checks and gift cards can be mailed to a temporary address: Bostian/Trantham Fire Relief, 3701A S Harvard Ave. #391, Tulsa, OK, 74135.

 Wildfire Relief- OSU IT (Okmulgee) 

The recent wildfires have devastated many families across Oklahoma, including many individuals associated with Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology. Funds have been established to support OSUIT students and others connected with OSU. Listed below are the names of people who need help and the places you can make donations.

  • Jimmy Bullard, a student in the high voltage lineman program, lost his house in the Mannford wildfire. He has received several donations, but he still has a great need for financial assistance to replace household items. Donations are being accepted at OSUIT’s Bursar’s office in the Clack Center. 
  • Nathan Moore, a student in the Construction Management program, lost his house in the Mannford wildfire.  He needs donations to assist with replacing his home and household items. Donations are being accepted at OSUIT’s Bursar’s office in the Clack Center. 
  • Clarence Smith, a photography student at OSUIT, recently lost his family home in the Mannford wildfire.  He has received donations from OSUIT employees and their churches, and received temporary housing at the OSUIT residence halls. However, Clarence still needs money to replace his photography equipment and computer equipment so he can stay current with his classwork. Donations are being accepted at OSUIT’s Bursar’s office in the Clack Center.
