Guest professor to speak this week
Welcome Dr. Walter Bradley, emeritus professor in mechanical engineering at Texas A&M and Baylor University, who will offer several presentations on campus this week, including the following:
“A Green Technology That Is Profitable and Creates Jobs: An Entrepreneur's Story” on Tuesday, October 16, 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Student Union, room 408.
“Converting Agricultural Waste into Natural Functional Fillers for Polymers: Increasing Performance, Reducing Environmental Impact, and Decreasing Price while Helping Poor Farmers” on Tuesday, October 16, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in FAPC, room 201. Seminar hosted by the Robert Kerr Food and Agricultural Products Center on
“Seven Habits of Highly Effective Professors - A Tenure Workshop” on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 3:30-5 p.m. in Life Science West 103
“Converting Agricultural Waste into Value-Added Products: The Case of the Coconut” on Thursday, Oct. 18, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Advanced Technology Research Center seminar room (102 ATRC). Seminar hosted by College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology.
Bradley is the co-founder of Natural Composites Inc., where the stated purpose is to "Turn everyday bio-waste into everyday products by combining research targeted at commercial applications, sourced and produced at our geographically diverse production facilities. Our greater purpose is to help people, help our planet, and help our clients."
Natural Composites is currently working on ways to use the waste from coconuts to produce products that will help farmers in poorer parts of the world.
