Meinke receives National Science Foundation grant
Dr. David Meinke, Regents Professor of Botany, has been awarded a research grant from the National Science Foundation for $370,000 to study the role of chloroplast gene expression in plant growth and development.
Meinke’s research in plant molecular genetics has been continuously funded for his entire career at OSU since hired as an assistant professor 30 years ago.
The success of his latest grant brings his total research dollars to more than $11 million from NSF and USDA, the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology, the S.R. Noble Foundation, as well as Novartis Biotechnology and Ciba-Geigy companies.
