In order to drastically speed construction, Monroe Street will be closed from University Avenue to Hall of Fame Avenue, except for the crossing at Athletic Avenue, beginning Thursday, June 7, and remain closed until the start of the fall semester. This will allow the upgrade of Monroe to be finished by the end of December, instead of the summer of 2013, as originally planned.

The following parking lots will be closed until the start of the fall semester: 30, 31, 33, 35, 36, 38, & 40. Please check the map available below for alternate parking locations, handicap parking areas and pedestrian access to locations. Pedestrian crossings and access will change over the course of the project. Until the fall semester begins, any OSU permit is valid in student parking lots.

If you have an OSU Handicap Permit and you are unable to use the available handicap parking areas, please contact the Parking Office at (405) 744-6525 for options. Accessible parking and shuttle transportation will be provided at the Monroe Street Garage from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Riders will be dropped off as close to their destination as possible. Those using handicap parking are asked to provide a two-hour notice for other transportation.

The university appreciates your understanding and patience during this change and much-needed upgrade to this vital OSU campus corridor. The project will enhance the street's safety, improve infrastructure and drainage, and make it more pedestrian and bicycle friendly. While the street closure will alter parking and access this summer, it means the campus will enjoy the benefits of the upgrade earlier.
