Oklahoma State's Sigma Nu chapter earns top honors at national convention

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Sigma Nu Fraternity’s Epsilon Epsilon Chapter at Oklahoma State earned a series of distinguished awards at the 65th Grand Chapter legislative convention.

Epsilon Epsilon earned its seventh Rock Chapter award, the most by any Sigma Nu chapter nationwide.

“OSU’s Sigma Nu chapter is a perennial powerhouse among a community of some of the nation’s best fraternity chapters," said Ival Gregory of Fraternity and Sorority affairs.  "They are an asset to OSU.”

Sigma Nu’s Rock award is presented to chapters that have achieved excellence in ten areas of operations, including manpower, scholarship, membership development, community service, and values-based leadership. This year the highly selective Rock Chapter award was presented to eight of Sigma Nu's 177 collegiate chapters.

In addition to distinguishing itself as a top Sigma Nu chapter through group and individual awards, Epsilon Epsilon alumnus Joe Francis was elected as national president-elect, joining current national president Charlie Eitel, also an initiate of the Sigma Nu Chapter at OSU.

Collegiate member Kyle Sikes received the LEAD Chairman of the Year award for his role in implementing the Fraternity’s flagshipleadership development program. C. Asher Coe was inducted as an Alpha Affiliate, a distinction that recognizes the Fraternity’s top ten graduating seniors.

“Epsilon Epsilon is a perennial Sigma Nu powerhouse,” remarked immediate past national president Robert Durham of Sigma Nu’s Mu Chapter at the University of Georgia. “Each year they select the highest quality freshman to carry forward their commitment to excellence.”
