OSU honored for recruiting veterans
The Veterans of Foreign Wars and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has honored Oklahoma State University as large employer of the year in Oklahoma for its targeted recruiting efforts for veterans.
“We are excited to receive this award and proud of OSU's commitment to our former and recently returning service men and women,” said Mackenzie Wilfong, assistant university counsel and equal opportunity officer at OSU. “I recently attended a veterans recruiting event in Pryor and spoke with a VFW representative who mentioned this award and expressed appreciation that OSU was a vet-friendly employer. I encourage applications at http://jobs.okstate.edu.,” she added.
VFW State Commander Emmitt Humphrey presented the award to Wilfong during the organization’s state convention in Oklahoma City. Wilfong was joined by Jamie Payne, chief human resources officer at OSU.
OSU was nominated for the honor by Bobby Bryant, local veterans representative with the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
