Range Club earns honor at national meeting
The OSU Range Club won the display board competition at the 65th annual Society for Range Management meeting in Spokane, Wash. last week. The group’s display board focused on linking events in the rangelands of Oklahoma to the theme of the Spokane meeting, “Lessons from the Past, Strategies for the Future.”
The team also placed 5th in the Rangeland Cup, and competed in the Undergraduate Range Management Exam in the contest, which included range programs from the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Club members on the team included Kenzie Foster, president; Diana Neumeyer, treasurer; Ben Coble, vice president; Cyndi Park, Jennifer Nicholson, Dillon McCarthick, and Chism Horton.
All club members served as Oklahoma ambassadors at the OKC Convention and Visitors Bureau booth this year to promoting next year’s annual meeting, which will be held in Oklahoma City and hosted by the Oklahoma Section of the Society for Range Management. Drs. Gail Wilson and Karen Hickman, Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management, are advisors for the Range Club.
