Oklahoma State University Student Government and members of the OSU family participated in a service project at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale, Ariz., on Jan. 3, after the Fiesta Bowl. The service trip was the first of its kind coordinated by SGA.
OSU students, alumni and fans picked more than 3,000 pounds of citrus fruit for the
Saint Mary’s food Bank Alliance. The fruit picked by the group was donated to a local
food bank in the Glendale community.
SGA President Ashley Leonard said the trip provided a unique opportunity for SGA
and the OSU family to expand their philanthropic reach outside of Oklahoma.
“With all of the excitement behind this football season, serving the community hosting
our final game of the season seemed like a great opportunity,” Leonard said. “This
gave SGA a chance to reach out to a community that we wouldn’t have been able to help
otherwise.”
