OSU signs degree option agreements with Mexican University
OSU and the Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP) University in Puebla City, Mexico, recently signed new degree options for their students.Pablo Nuño, dean of the graduate college at UPAEP System, visited OSU to sign a dual Ph.D. agreement between the Department of Agricultural Education, Communication and Leadership at OSU and the Centro Interdisciplinario de Postgrados at UPAEP. He also signed an agreement providing new master dual degree options for a master in international agriculture.
David Henneberry, associate vice president for International Studies and Outreach, said these new degree options are a great addition to the other degree options we already have in place with UPAEP.
“With the dual degree program, students gain language skills and it’s a wonderful international and cultural experience,” Henneberry said. “OSU and UPAEP are great partners in the dual degree program and we are very happy to add additional degree options to this program.”
The dual degree program allows a student to earn two master’s degrees in two years. The first phase is at the home university (OSU), the second phase is at the partner university (UPAEP), then the third phase is a thesis that can be completed at either university. The student must complete the degree requirements of each institution.

The Universities are trying to extend the collaboration between both institutions with a new Master Dual degree in Leisure Studies and a new option of Global Development including not only OSU and UPAEP but universities in Asia and Europe.
