OSU Student Union Marketing wins in national contest

The Association of College Unions International has selected the Student Union Marketing Department at Oklahoma State University for five awards in a national competition that recognizes excellence in marketing materials for college union and student union activities.

Kassidy Conway, senior graphic designer, placed first and second in the print advertisements category, second in signs and banners, and third in logo/brand identity. She also teamed with Marketing Manager Debbie Shotwell for a first place finish in the cards/invitations category.

The entries in the annual “Steal this Idea” Contest are judged based on strength of concept, design, editorial content and effectiveness. OSU’s five awards were the second highest number of awards presented to any ACUI member institution this year. They will be on display at the 92nd ACUI annual conference in Boston, Mass. next week.

“I love that I get to wake up every morning and come to work to do something as fun as being a graphic designer. When I was a child, I loved to draw but I would have never believed I would be so lucky to do just that all day long for an institution that I love and actually get paid for it. To be recognized nationally for it, is just icing on the cake,” Conway said.

Founded in 1914, ACUI is a nonprofit educational organization that brings together college union and student activities professionals from more than 500 schools in 27 countries. Its members work on urban and rural campuses, in two-year and four-year institutions, and at large and small schools. For more information about ACUI, visit acui.org.
