Three OSU freshmen, Michael Dunford, Josh Gleason and Will Ryan, won gold medals after helping their team, the Oklahoma City Oil Kings, win the Division 1A crown at the USA National Youth Hockey Championships in Lansing, Mich. last week.

Dunford and Gleason are students at Spears School of Business and Ryan is a student in the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

The Oil Kings beat teams from West Virginia, New Mexico, Tennessee, South and North Carolina, Wyoming and Utah to take the crown. This is the second National Championship for these students who have played for the OKC Youth Hockey Association. They were also members of the OKC ice hockey team that won the 2010 USA National Youth Ice Hockey Tier II championship. The trio also played for the OSU Intramural Ice Hockey team in the OKC Men’s League last fall.
