OSU Symphony Orchestra Concert Wednesday
The Oklahoma State University Symphony Orchestra will perform in concert on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts on the OSU Campus. General admission is $8 or $6 for OSU students and senior citizens.
The concert will feature one of the 20th century's most significant works, Igor Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring." In addition, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Violin Concerto in G Major (I. Allegro)" will be performed by conductor Douglas Droste, the recipient of this year's First Lady of OSU - Distinguished Professor of Music Award. The program will also feature the world premier of Roger Cichy's "Hats Off!."
The OSU Symphony Orchestra was recently invited to perform at the College Orchestra Directors Association National Conference in Cleveland, Ohio in January 2013. The orchestra is under the direction of Droste, associate professor of music.
