Pianist Kate Boyd in concert Wednesday
Guest pianist Kate Boyd will present a unique and exciting concert celebrating the
100th birthday of John Cage on Wednesday, March 7, at 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall of
the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is free and the recital is
open to the public.
The program includes Cage's infamous 'silent' piece 4'33" plus his revolutionary Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano. Dr. Boyd is associate professor of piano at Butler University in Indianapolis.
She is described by Gramophone Magazine as a pianist with a "strong lyrical bent and feeling for nuance," and is a passionate advocate for new music. Read more.
