Regents approve OSU faculty promotions

The Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents approved promotions in academic rank for faculty members on the campuses in Stillwater, Tulsa and Oklahoma City, effective July 1, during its meeting today at OSU-Tulsa.

On the Stillwater campus, receiving promotions from professor to the honorary title of Regents Professor were Kaladi Babu, physics; and  J. David Knottnerus, sociology.

Receiving promotions from associate professor to professor were Timothy Bowser, Biosystems and agricultural engineering; Craig Davis, natural resource ecology and management; Rodney Will Jr., natural resource ecology and management;  Jeffery Edwards, plant and soil sciences; Allen Apblett, chemistry; Barry Lavine, chemistry; Eliot Atekwana, geology; Jeanette Mendez, political science; Judith Cronk, theatre; David Carter, finance; Dursun Delen, management science and information systems; Lynna Ausburn, teaching and curriculum leadership;  Hongyu Wang, teaching and curriculum leadership; Khaled Mansy, architecture; Tom Spector, architecture;  Guoliang Fan, electrical and computer engineering; Amanda Morris, human development and family science;

Faculty receiving a reappointment as associate professor, action granting tenure were, Wendy Picking, microbiology and molecular genetics; Belinda McCharen, teaching and Curriculum leadership; Randall Stroope, music; Chulho Yang, engineering technology; and Hugh Crethar, applied health and educational psychology.

From the OSU-Oklahoma City campus, Rebecca Pruitt, promotion from instructor to assistant professor and department head, early care education; James Saunders, from instructor to assistant professor and department head; Anita Wingfield, from instructor to assistant professor, health sciences; Evan Burkala, from instructor to assistant professor, science; Nancy Shuman-Miller, from associate professor and head to professor and head, social studies; David Morales, from assistant professor and head to associate professor and head (action grants tenure), veterinary technology; and Rachel Reeves, from instructor to assistant professor, veterinary technology.

From the Center for Health Sciences- Tulsa, Teri Bourdeau, promotion from clinical assistant professor to clinical associate professor, behavioral sciences; Shawna Duncan, from assistant professor to associate professor (action grants tenure), pediatrics; Colony Fugate, from assistant professor to clinical associate professor, pediatrics; Kathleen Curtis, from assistant professor to associate professor (action grants tenure), pharmacology and physiology; and Brian Diener, assistant professor to associate professor and vice chair (action grants tenure), surgery.
