See Chem-E Car Competition on Tuesday

You’re invited to attend the CEAT Chem-E Car Competition, which includes a race that will start at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, at the Wes Watkins Center. A poster presentation will precede the competition at 4 p.m.

The local competition is sponsored by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP, and the public is welcome to attend. The OSU Chem-E-Car project is a multi-semester project that involves sophomore, junior, and senior chemical engineering students (approximately 110 students total this year).

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) hosts a regional (at Washington University in St. Louis March 30-31) and national (Pittsburgh Oct. 28) competition in which students are challenged to design and construct a chemical-powered model car to carry a specified load over a given distance.

The top three qualifiers from the local competition go on to compete at the regional competition and the top three qualifiers at the regional competition go on to compete at the national competition.

Come out and support our Chemical Engineering students as they compete for top honors!
