Student art showcased
The Gardiner Art Gallery is showcasing the work of six student artists through March 16 in the Studio Capstone Exhibition. The seniors, who will graduate in May, will talk about their work during a free reception on Thursday, March 8, from 5-7 p.m.
This exhibition presents work by Kyle Duncan, Shaylene Thompson, Jennifer Leigh Whitfield, Craig W. Ciafardini, Jordan G. Hill and Kelsey Willis, who will graduate in May with their BFA degrees. The works at the exhibit represent the achievements the artists have attained through synthesis, analysis and reflection during their rigorous studies. Mentored by faculty, the exhibition allows students to demonstrate their critical thinking, communications skills and their awareness of professional exhibition practices gained while at OSU.
The reception on Thursday, March 8, will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. and it will be followed by the students describing their work from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Gardiner Art Gallery in the Bartlett Center for the Visual Arts at OSU in Stillwater. The gallery is open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
